PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately target an advertisement from a server to a client in a distributed data processing system. SOLUTION: Between sessions connecting a server 408 and a client 402, a data stream scanner 422 scans a data stream coming from an internet and generates browsing history information 424. Based on the browsing history information 424, an advertisement selector 426 selects an advertisement from a classified advertisement data base 420 or advertiser data base 421. An advertisement inserting device 430 inserts the selected advertisement into the data stream. A browser 404 of the client 402 receiving the data stream, to which the advertisement is inserted, displays the advertisement in a web page. Corresponding to the insertion of the selected advertisement into the data stream, the server 408 reduces the cost of online connection service. |
