PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize glossiness between images on first and second surfaces or first and second images by controlling the temperature of an image heating device at permanent fixing of an unfixed toner image on the second surface of material to be recorded to a temperature at which the glossiness of the permanently fixed image parts on the first and the second surfaces becomes equal to or lower than a specified value. SOLUTION: When a double-sided printing mode is set, the fixing temperature to be controlled of a fixing device 100 is changed and controlled to a temperature T2 attained by lowering the fixing temperature of the image on the second surface in a prescribed manner with respect to a fixing temperature T1 of the image on the first surface. Namely, the fixing temperature of the image on the second surface of the device 100 is changed and controlled to the temperature T2, in a timing with a material to be recorded P where the image on the first surface has been printed passing through the device 100 rushes into a recirculating feeding mechanism. Then, the fixing temperature T1 of the image on the first surface and the fixing temperature T2 of the image on the second surface are set higher than temperature at which faulty fixing is caused at the time of fixing the image of second image surfaces, and the temperature T2 of the image on the second surface is the temperature, at which the difference of the glossiness of the fixed image part between the images on the first and the second surfaces becomes 5% or lower. |
