PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and easily select an optimal material while securing objectivity in material selection. SOLUTION: A material file storing material names corresponding to material index values and economical index values of the relevant materials is provided and this method has step 100 for setting a request item corresponding to the material, step 300 for determining the request lower limit value of the material index value corresponding to the set request item, step 400 for selecting a material having the material index value greater than the request lower limit value from the material file and a step 500 for selecting at least one material in order from the highest economical index value while referring to the material file among the selected materials.
