PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the burden of a meterman remarkably by alarming information on the control of an abnormality control means according to specified operation conducted through an initial setting appliance. SOLUTION: A main body 1 of a gas meter has a gas flow inlet 2a and a gas flow outlet 2b at its upper part, and a calculation display part 3, security display part 4, test shut-out switch 5, shut-out valve opening switch 6 and a container reset switch 7 at its front surface. When the gas pressure detected by a pressure sensor exceeds a preset pressure set value, it is determined to be abnormal and an alarm is displayed on the security display part 4 or generated by an outside appliance. Information on abnormality of flow quantity or pressure is stored as history information in a memory inside of a microcomputer. Setting of various conditions or reading-out of information can be carried out by conducting specified operation different from the initial setting to the switch 7 through manufally operation of the switch 5 and further by the use of a magnet 8.
