PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect gas concentration in an oil, irrespective of the temperature of the oil, even when the oil deteriorates by setting a prescribed distance of a plurality of electrodes to be in the range of a prescribed value or larger so that the drift amount of the detection signal of a gas concentration detect means with respect to the temperature change of the oil starts to gradually decrease in accordance with the increase in the distance of the plurality of electrodes. SOLUTION: This apparatus for detecting gas concentration of an oil 7 includes a plurality of electrodes 40a and 41a, arranged opposite to be separated by a prescribed distance, e.g. 3 mm in the oil 7, and an electrostatic capacity amplifier 5 for outputting a detection signal V, which represents a concentration of a gas (air concentration AC) in the oil 7 corresponding to an electrostatic capacity C between the plurality of electrodes 40a and 41a. The prescribed distance 3 mm between the plurality of electrodes 40a and 41a is set to be in the range of a prescribed value of 2 mm or larger, so that a temperature drift amount VDT of the detection signal V of the electrostatic capacity amplifier 5 to the temperature change of the oil 7 starts to gradually decrease, accompanying increase in a distance (t) between the plurality of electrodes 40a and 41a.
