摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure a sample even in the case of the sample being easily bendable such as paper or the like irrespective of its color density of its surface by irradiating an object with a light from a light source, reflecting it, and irradiating a split type photodiode with a reflected light passed through a phase difference film and a polarizing plate and a reflected light passed through the plate to detect its gloss. SOLUTION: A light source 2 and a split type photodiode 5 are disposed so that an incident angle and a reflecting angle of a light to a test portion 1 become equal. The test portion 1 is irradiated with the light from the source 2 in a spot light state by using a condenser lens 6. The light may not always be necessarily concentrated to one point. As the source 2, in addition to an LED, a light source having many single wave length components such as a halogen lamp, a semiconductor laser or the like can be used. As the photodiode 5, four-divided split type, six-divided split type, eight-divided split type or the like is used. The test portion 1 is irradiated with the light, and the photodiode 5 is irradiated with a reflected light passed through a phase difference filter 3 and a polarizing plate 4 and a reflected light passed through the plate 4 to detect its gloss.
