PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal and a device for processing document with which a sentence added with phonetic KANA (Japanese syllabary) corresponding to the degree of difficulty desired by a reader can be prepared by preparing character string data adding the phonetic KANA and KANJI (Chinese character) difficulty degree information to inputted KANA and KANJI mixed character string data. SOLUTION: An analyzer 14 analyzes a KANA and KANJI mixed sentence and outputs the information of phonetic KANA together and a difficulty degree adder 15 outputs the information of the degree of difficulty of KANJI together with the inputted KANA and KANJI mixed sentence. A storage 16 stores the KANA and KANJI mixed sentence, the information of phonetic KANA and the information of the degree of difficulty of KANJI. A document processing terminal 100 for inputting the output of the storage 16 refers to the information of phonetic KANA, adds the required reading KANA to KANJI while reading the KANA and KANJI mixed sentence and the information of the degree of difficulty of KANJI and displays the KANA and KANJI sentence with phonetic KANA on a display 13.
