PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a continuous heat treatment furnace for heat treatment of a board which has a short furnace length. SOLUTION: A linear shaft 33 and a screw shaft 31 of a close-set side shift mechanism 3 are arranged higher than a guide rail 12 of a retaining plate 2. A notched part 21a is arranged lower than the guide rail 12 of the retaining plate 2. At least, a part of a tray 52 of a falling board collecting mechanism 5 is introduced in the notched part 21a, and the length of a furnace is shortened by the introduced amount.
