PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a simultaneous sound recording monitor function by forming a WAVE file without overwriting of sample data already checked to be normally recorded. SOLUTION: The file for recording recorded speeches of the optical disk device having the simultaneous sound recording monitor function which reproduces the recorded speeches right after recording and records the reproduced sounds while monitoring these sounds is the WAVE file of an RIFF (release interchange file format) file type consisting of an RIFF header 101 having file size data indicating the size over the entire part of the file, a format chunk 102 having the data indicating the format of the stored data, a WAVE data chunk 103 consisting of a chunk header having the file size data indicating the size over the entire part of the stored speech data and the speech data and a chuck 104 for size regulation. The file size of the size regulation described above is so set that the sum of the file size for size regulation, the file sizes of the RIFF header, the format chunk and the chunk header attains integer times the sector size.
