PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make quickly executable a collapsibly mounting action. SOLUTION: A zoom lens 10 is constituted of a 1st to a 3rd lens groups 11-13. The 1st and the 2nd groups 11 and 12 are moved in the direction of an optical axis O with respect to a cam barrel 12 when a cam barrel 15 is rotated. The barrel 15 is rotated by the driving of a motor for variable power 22. The motor 22 is driven with a low-level voltage at a variable power operation time and driven with high-level voltage at a barrel collapsing operation time by a driver 40, a voltage adjuster 41 and a control part 34. When a camera is set in a using state or a non-using state, the motor 22 is driven at a higher speed than the time of a variable power action and the groups 11-13 are quickly moved respectively to housing positions.
