PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication device enabling a user to surely recognize that there are picture data recorded in relation with sound data in a communication device capable of storing sound data and picture data. SOLUTION: In the case of transmitting sound/picture data to a certain user, a command capable of discriminating a case using only sound data from a case using the sound data and picture data related to the sound data is used. The communication device recognizes the command and records information indicating whether images related to the management information of the sound data are recorded or not. The existence of picture data related to sound data instructed so as to be reproduced can be automatically detected by referring to the information.
