PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that can store audio and image data to a storage section in the inside of its main body and an external storage device and can efficiently use the storage section in the inside of the main body. SOLUTION: The communication device retrieves stored data under a prescribed condition such as an ID number assigned to each user, transfers corresponding data from a storage section in its main body to an external storage device (S2108), and deletes the data from the storage section (S2109). Since the communication device can select transferred data in this way, it is possible to store data with high importance to the storage section in the main body with priority.
