PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device that can restore audio and/or image data even when the audio and/or image data stored in a storage section in the inside of its main body or in an external storage device are defective or missing due to a wrong operation or a fault in the device. SOLUTION: After receiving audio and/or image data from a communication channel, a File No. for transfer is secured (S1201), and a prescribed condition such as recording data of a final recording person are transferred to an external storage device (S1202). In this case, original data having been recorded in a storage section in the inside of the main body are not deleted. After the transfer, information relating to a data storage location included in management information of the transferred data is changed into the external storage device (S1203).
