The feeder (1) is made from a cardboard panel with a plastic coating on the inside and protected by varnish on the outside, cut out and folded to form a tray to hold the feed and a triangular-section cover (8) over it. A portion of the cover is cut out to form an aperture, with the end (6b) of the cut-out portion inserted into the aperture to form a hanging strap (6) which allows the feeder to be suspended from a tree branch. One end of the cover is cut out to form a second aperture, with the cut-out flap (5) folded to form a perch with a support (10).
