THREE-DIMENSIONAL IMAGE DETECTOR AND OPTICAL COMMUNICATION RECEIVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a three-dimensional image detector, which emits a range finding light to an object to detect a distance up to the object, to employ one light source so as to conduct range fining and transmission of data through an optical communication. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 14 emits a pulse-modulated range finding light to an object. A camera body 10 receives a reflected light via an image pickup lens 11 to detect a distance up to the object and stores detected distance data to a memory at once. The light emitting device 14 emits a communication light with a pulse frequency modulation region different from that of the range finding light to transmit the distance data or the like stored in the memory to a device provided to an outside of the camera body 10. A light receiving device 47 receives the communication light and outputs the detected light to a computer 46 as received data.
