PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel video data synchronization system for digital TV broadcast that eliminates various defects in a conventional technology. SOLUTION: A transmitter 23 assigns synchronization information in electronic watermark information 8 at a part of a video stream where a video and data are desirably synchronously with each other, a compositing section 9 embeds the information 8 to the video stream, a coding section 5 encodes the resulting video stream, a coding section 6 encodes a data stream as one stream for every data desirably to be synchronized, a coding section 7 encodes the audio stream, and a multiplexer section 4 multiplexes the video, the data and the audio-coded data. A demultiplexer section 14 of a receiver 24 demultiplexes the multiplexed stream into the video, the data and the audio data, a decoding section 15 decodes the video, a detection section 18 detects electronic watermark information 19 embedded in the video stream, and a data control section 20 controls a data stream decoded by a decoding section 16 on the basis of the synchronization information of the electronic watermark information 19. |
