PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decision feedback encoder that can be configured with a far smaller number of high speed comparators and high speed circuits than those of a conventional encoder. SOLUTION: This decision feedback encoder includes an A/D converter 4, that converts an input signal into a digital signal denoting a discrimination level, a digital processing circuit that provides a consecutive symbol value and one set of coefficients in response to the signal from the A/D converter, a D/A converter 8 that converts the coefficient into a corresponding analog value, and an analog circuit 9 that obtains a sum of products between respective symbol values and respective analog values to produce a feedback signal, so as to reduce inter-symbol disturbance in the input signal.
