PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve printing processing speed with simple constitution by providing a decision means for deciding whether image data or printing data uses one color or plural colors for every printing job or every page unit and varying a printing processing stage according to the decided result. SOLUTION: Whether the color used in the printing job or in the respective pages of the printing job is one color or two or more colors is checked by a printer driver 12. When the used color is two or more colors, the image data is transmitted to a printer as it is, and when the used color is one color, information showing that only one color is used is added to the head of the image data and transmitted to the printer. In the case of converting the received image data 13 into the printing data by a printing data analysis part 14, whether or not the information is added is checked. When the information is added, the printing data is transmitted to a plotting part 15 and printing processing for one color is performed by the plotting part 15 and a printer engine 16.
