Delay time measuring method for generating random pulse sequence

The method involves using a random pulse generation circuit to provide a random pulse sequence at random intervals, and to feed it with an output signal from the delay time generation circuit via a positive feedback loop. An output signal from the random pulse generation circuit is injected into the positive feedback loop to induce the loop to oscillate. A delay time is determined for the delay time generation circuit from a period during which the positive feedback loop oscillates. A gate circuit can be provided to control the duration of the pulse sequence.
