PURPOSE: An apparatus for notifying a pop up message is provided to generate an effect sound corresponding to an OSD(On Screen Display) message which is popped up on a screen, so as to audio-visually supply available information to transmit exact information to a user. CONSTITUTION: An OSD(On Screen Display) character signal generator(106) corresponds to a predetermined text message pop up mode, and generates a character signal. A second synthesizer(108) synthesizes the generated character signal with a video output signal, and outputs the synthesized signal to a displaying unit(109). An effect sound generator(103) generates an effect sound corresponding to a predetermined text message. A first synthesizer(102) synthesizes the generated effect sound with an audio output signal, and outputs the synthesized signal to a speaker(104). A controller(103) controls the OSD character signal generator(106) and the effect sound generator(103) to generate the character signal and the effect sound, by corresponding to an inputted command. |
