<p>A building construction system is disclosed that is particularly useful for the rapid erection of dwellings. A dwelling constructed from the system includes: (a) cementitious beam components (6, 7, 8, 9) with an L-shaped cross-section to form base beams, bond beams, rafters and floor joists respectively; (b) cementitious panel components (3) to form internal and external walls; (c) cementitious panel components (4) to form the roof; (d) panel interconnecting means; (e) beam interconnecting means; and (f) beam and panel connecting means comprising rods (29) embedded in panel components (3), the rod having threaded portions (30) for connection with beam components (6, 7). The cementitious components (3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9) of the system are desirably made from a foamed cementitious composition so as to impart a light weight to the components. Cost effectiveness of the system is enhanced through the inclusion of selected waste materials in the composition.</p> |
