PURPOSE: A blushless direct current motor without sensor and a driving method thereof are provided to exactly control in a state that a back electromotive force is absent a motor by rotating a motor to a required direction when a motor operates lower than a predetermined speed or does not operate. CONSTITUTION: A motor section(600) includes a stator having three phase coils(U,V,W) and a rotor having magnetic poles which are sequentially arranged. A start up section(100) applies a drive starting signal for a predetermined time. A comparator(700) compares inductance current flowing through each phase of the three phase coils(U,V,W) with one another and compares back electromotive forces applied to each phase of three phase coils(U,V,W) with one another and outputs a comparison result signal to a rectifier(400). A rectifier(400) operates according to the drive starting signal from start up section(100), detects a location of the rotor according to an output signal of comparator(700) and a motor control information. An inverter circuit(500) controls a current direction applied to three phase coils(U,V,W) according to different switching signals applied by first, second, and third control modes of rectifier(400).
