PURPOSE: A balun on a millimeter wave plane using a directional coupler capable of being manufactured on the same plane by one photolithography process is provided. CONSTITUTION: The first coupler(110b) couples an input signal and has 1/4 wavelength. An open stub(100) is connected to one terminal of the first coupler(110b) and matches an impedance. An input transmission line(90) is connected to other terminal of the first coupler(110b). The input transmission line(90) receives an unbalance signal and has a microstrip line structure. The second coupler(110a) is coupled to a side of the first coupler(110b) and has 1/4 wavelength. Output transmission lines(120,130) are connected to both terminals of the second coupler(110a), respectively. The output transmission lines(120,130) output signals having a phase difference of 180 degrees. The output transmission lines(120,130) have a microstrip line structure.
