PURPOSE: An apparatus for reproducing a clock necessary for an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) terminal is provided to make a transmitting side use a control device for changing a dividing ratio 'N' value to reduce a jitter, so as to prevent deterioration of a color picture quality. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for reproducing a clock uses a synchronous residual time stamp(SRTS) standard system in a terminal, when a digital signal is transmitted with an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) system. A dividing ratio of an 'N' divider of a transmitting side is changed to a (N+1)/(N-1) divider, to reduce the size of a jitter generated in the apparatus. A small size of an SRTS jitter is generated, only when a frequency tolerance of a source clock is small.
