METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CURRENT OF SPINDLE MOTOR AND SLED MOTOR IN OPTICAL DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE: A method for controlling the current of a spindle motor and a sled motor in an optical disk device is provided to reduce current consumption and to stably operate by preventing voltage drop through rapid current consumption. CONSTITUTION: A data seek request for recorded data of an optical disk is detected while a rotation of a spindle motor is controlled through a spindle motor driver. A fed current to the spindle motor is blocked. An optical pickup is moved to a wanted position by driving a sled motor through a sled motor driver. When finishing a data seek by the driving of the sled motor, the rotation of the spindle motor is controlled by feeding the current to the spindle motor again. Thereby, current consumption is reduced and the stable operation is performed entirely by preventing voltage drop through rapid current consumption.
