FOREIGN MATTER REMOVING APPARATUS AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING POSITION OF FOREIGN MATTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter removing apparatus capable of automati cally detecting the accurate position of foreign matter to remove the foreign matter and an apparatus for detecting the position of the foreign matter consti tuted so as to be capable of automating the position detecting work of the conductive foreign matter present on the transparent electrode of a touch panel. SOLUTION: In a process for removing a powder due to silver paste deposited on the transparent electrode of a touch panel 1, the surface of the touch panel is pressed by a squeegee type press member to detect the position of the powder and a linear motor 10 is controlled to move an X-Y stage 9 for holding a CCD camera 5 and a powder removing laser device 6 to the position of the powder to take the image of the powder by the CCD camera. The accurate position of the powder is calculated on the basis of the taken image and the powder is removed by the laser device. This process is automatically performed.
