PURPOSE: A device for automatically opening a flip of a portable telephone is provided to configure a hooking unit in a body and a locking unit in the flip so as to open and shut the flip with one hand. CONSTITUTION: A button(60) is equipped in a side of a body(40) for the unlocking of a flip(30). A spring(80) is connected in a lower end of the button(60) for slided move of the button(60). The button(60) coupled with a locking unit(50) of the flip(30) is integrated with a hooking unit(61) maintaining a locking state. When the button(60) is moved upward by external power, the locking state between the hooking unit(61) and the locking unit(50) is released, accordingly the flip(30) is opened. And when external power is not applied, the button(60) is restored to a lower part of the hooking unit(61). When the locking state between the hooking unit(61) and the locking unit(60) is released while the button(60) is moved upward, the flip(30) is automatically opened by a spring(70) with elastic power to an opening direction. A geared part between the he hooking unit(61) and the locking unit(50) is configured with slide surfaces(63,53).
