The method involves detecting the imbalance in normal operation. The oscillation frequency and amplitude of the disturbance are measured in several places for a mounted clock mechanism and the centre of the entire running section derived from the data in terms of distance and angle from the balance shaft using a stated formula. Material is removed to move the centre of the disturbance at least approximately to the geometric axis of the balance shaft. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the method.
