Process for filtering liquids comprises pressing the unfiltered liquid inside a pressure container (6) through a filter having several filter candles (9) such that the filtrate remains in the container and is removed at periodic intervals. The functions of filtering, cleaning of the filter and drying of the filtrate are carried out in the same device, in which during cleaning of the filter the filtrate adhered to the filter candles is removed by rotating the filter and the filtrate is dried by centrifugation. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the filtering process.
