<p>PURPOSE: A method for concealing errors of an MPEG-2 system is provided to exactly restore the lost block by defining many sub blocks, sharing peripheral blocks of lost macro blocks, and then estimating each motion vector. As a result, this method reduces the restoration performing time for the next lost block in half, and allows a weight in accordance with difference values of substantially-located blocks to decide a motion vector of a lost block. CONSTITUTION: An MPEG-2 system defines many sub blocks. The sub blocks include left/right macro blocks of each of upper/lower macro blocks of a lost macro block, and include the lost macro block. The MPEG-2 compression restoring system finds motion vectors. The MPEG-2 compression restoring system finds difference values between blocks received from a previous frame, by using the sub blocks and the motion vectors, and sets up a predetermined weight(w) according to the difference values. The MPEG-2 compression restoring system multiplies each of the motion vectors by the weight(w), and decides a total sum as a motion vector of the lost macro block. The MPEG-2 compression restoring system searches a previous macro block with the decided motion vector, and restores a motion picture.</p> |
