Process for increasing the performance and reducing the amount of fuel used during the production of pig iron in blast furnaces comprises removing gases from the mold plane (11) in the lower part of the furnace (1) via a first gas collection chamber (8) at 600-900 deg C, cooling, de-dusting, raising the pressure, and heating; recycling a part of the gas removed required for the reduction of hematite to magnetite or wustite and for heating the charge (3) in the furnace, back into the furnace below the solid charge (2); and recycling a further part as gasifying agent (21) into the furnace directly via the mold plane and/or indirectly via an external gasifier (35) from fuel to reduction gas, and removing the gases (14) rising in the shaft from the upper part of the shaft above the first gas collection chamber via a second gas collection chamber.
|
