PURPOSE: A safety valve device for a pressure cooker is provided to prevent accidents by making foreign stuff such as dregs not to stain inside the safety valve device when using, and to reduce manufacturing cost by simplifying the structure. CONSTITUTION: Method for preparing a safety valve device for a pressure cooker is composed of the following steps : (i) a first step to bore a hole(8) on the cover(6) of a pressure cooker ; (ii) a second step to insert an opening and shutting device(10), which has hanging brim(12), supporting brim(14) and discharge holes(16) to stick the hanging brim(12) fast on the hanging brim(18) of the hole(8) ; (iii) a third step to insert outside the opening and shutting device(10) an elastic ring(24) that has elastic holes(22) and is expanded and contracted by pressure. The steam pressure is discharged through a steam discharge valve when cooking, but if the steam pressure inside the cooker increases more, it is exhausted through the opening and shutting device(10) connected to the hole(8) of the cover.
