In a system for directing the motion of a vehicle, controllers (10a, 10b), each of which independently controls motion of the vehicle, are linked to a coupling assembly (20) to cause the controllers to experience substantially identical motion. The coupling assembly includes one or more fluid displacer s (32a, 32b, 34a, 34b) that are linked to a first vehicle controller which for ce fluid from a first chamber (32a, 34a), through a conduit (28), into a second chamber (32b, 34b) and against one or more fluid displacers that are linked to a second vehicle controller (10b). The coupling assembly may be used to control motion of the aircraft in multiple degrees of freedom.
