The method involves releasing a key for the exit of a vehicle from a path (St) in one (Awanst2) of several redirection points (Awanstl to Awanst3), and releasing a path remainder under application of a function logic (STAW2) which leaves a corresponding signal ("1") for the redirection points indicated in a path order. An occupation index (N) is left or is activated, at least for the indicated redirection point (Awanst), and an occupation message (B) is stored for each redirection point, when using a corresponding message point (Kl to K3). The key release for switching the switch in the redirection point indicated in the path order is dependent, whether an occupation message is stored for it, and a later release of a still active path and/or path remainder is also dependent on this occupation message.
