PURPOSE: A system for transmitting/receiving chatting information and a chatting method and a method of researching audience rating while receiving the chatting information are provided to transmit a television signal in a state of including the chatting information in a blanking section of the television signal. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting signal transmitting portion(100) encodes chatting data input through an internet(50) in real time and transmits a television signal in a state of including the encoded chatting information and caption data in a blanking section of the television signal. A broadcasting signal receiving portion(200) receives the transmitted television signal to output a voice signal and an image signal, and outputs the caption data and the chatting data included in the blanking section of the television signal, and transmits the chatting data of a user through the internet to the broadcasting signal transmitting portion. In the system, the broadcasting signal transmitting portion is comprised of a chatting server(110) for receiving the chatting data from the user to provide a chatting service, and a rating arrangement server(120) for arranging and analyzing a selected channel information from the receiving portion to research audience rating by each channel.
