The seat adjuster has a single electric control motor for driving several control drive devices via changeable rotary connectors (10,11), each with a translationally movable transmission. Different rotary connectors associated with different control functions can be moved from a central position in opposite directions by pivotable control elements so that a pivotal movement in the desired direction is coupled with the closing of a switch for driving the motor in the desired rotation direction and the control elements can only be pivoted individually.
