PURPOSE: A bit extension circuit of an AD converter is provided to improve resolution of upper and lower comparators so that the area of the circuit is not increased and operation speed is not decreased. CONSTITUTION: A bit extension circuit of an AD converter includes two resistors having the same resistance value, which are serially connected between input ports of comparators, for dividing reference voltages applied to the comparators, a switch, connected to the input ports of the comparators, for receiving analog voltage, and a comparator(100), connected to the one side of the switch of the connection point of the two resistors in common, for comparing a newly generated reference voltage with the analog voltage.
