发明名称 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING NO-RECORDING AREA OF OPTICAL DISK
摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting the no-recording area of an optical disk is provided to stabilize a servo mechanism by holding servo error signals such as tracking/focus error signals exactly at a header area and to move an optical pickup device to a desired position without influence of a header in track jump or measuring eccentricity of a disk. CONSTITUTION: The first no-recording area detector(300) performs LPF(low pass filtering) the sum of optical reflecting signal from an optical disk. The first no-recording area detector outputs the first no-recording area detecting signal by recognizing as a no-recording area, a header area if the LPF-processed value is higher than the first reference value. The second no-recording area detector(400) normalizes a BPF(band pass filtered) signal after BPF-processing the sum of optical reflecting signals toward a track from the optical disk. The second detector outputs the second no-recording detecting signal by recognizing as a no-recording area if the normalized signal is higher than the second reference value. A recording area decider(600) decides if the current spot is recordable or no-recordable. A no-recording area signal generator(500) outputs the final no-recording area detecting signal from the first/second no-recording area detecting signals according to the result of the recording area decider.
