PURPOSE: A method for informing a number change is provided to deliver an announcement relating to a local or a long-distance call to an originating terminal, when an originating subscriber of a network requests a call connection with a subscriber who moves to a specific area of the network, and to select the attempted call. CONSTITUTION: If a receiving terminal is registered in an announcement service and if an existing local number is not equal to a changed local number, a service control point system(SCP) transmits a number portability announcement delivering command to an intelligent peripheral(IP), and simultaneously transmits an establish telephony connection(ETC) command to a service switching point(SSP), then transmits a play announce report(PA) command to the IP. The SSP controls an ETC speech path to be connected. The IP connects a speech path of the SSP, and delivers an announcement relating to a number portability to an originating terminal, then transmits a digit signal corresponding to the announcement received from the originating terminal to the SCP. The SCP transmits a call connection command for connecting a call between the receiving terminal and the originating terminal to the SSP, and transmits a disconnect forward connection(DFC) command and a release(REL) command to the SSP. The SSP controls the receiving/the originating terminals to be connected with the call, and disconnects the number portability announcement in the originating terminal according to the DFC command, then completes an intelligent network processing procedure according to the REL command. The SSP controls a general call processing procedure to be performed.
