<p>An insulating cap for protecting the free end of an electrical cable comprises a housing for receiving the cable end and a cable-gripper element associated with the housing, in which the gripper element is movable relative to the housing between a position which permits unimpended cable entry and a position which resists cable withdrawal from the housing.
