The invented rail vehicle, intended particularly for transportation of persons has a body of coach with a coach roof (12) that is provided with a roof ventilation device (10, 30, 42, 44) for ventilation of the body of coach internal space, so called roof fan. The roof ventilation device (10, 30, 42, 44) is formed by an air duct (14) that is connected with the body of coach, and a cover (18, 32) being arranged at a certain distance to the air duct. Between the roof ventilation device (10, 30, 42, 44) air duct (14) and the cover (18, 32) assigned thereto there is an adjustable distance and by changing the cover (18, 32) distance from the air duct (14) an actual flow section for air exchange can be variably adjusted.
