PURPOSE: A method for controlling a forward power of a WLL(Wireless Local Lopp) system is provided to measure an SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) or an SIR(Sustained Information Rate), periodically notify the measured SNR or SIR to an RP(Radio Port), and control the forward power based on the notified SNR or SIR. CONSTITUTION: A traffic channel is assigned to a termination station(S11). The termination station judges whether a valid message is received to a forward signal channel(S12). If the valid message is received to the forward signal channel, the termination station measures an SNR of a received traffic channel, calculates the SNR, and expresses the calculated SNR as the number of random bit(S13). The termination station generates a frame composed as the SNR and a frame quality indicator and transmits the SNR measured at a uniform time interval to an RP(S14). The RP compares the SNR measured in the termination with a threshold value(S15). If the SNR measured in the termination is larger than the threshold value, the RP increases an output, and if the SNR measured in the termination is less than the threshold value, the RP decreases the output(S16).
