<p>A dispenser (1) for fluid material comprises a body (30) defining a chamber for fluid material. The chamber has an outlet (31), and a piston (50) is mounted for sliding movement within the chamber along a first axis. The piston (50) is operably linked to a cam follower (54). An actuator (60) is pivotable about a second axis substantially orthogonal to the first axis, the actuator (60) being operably linked to a cam member (64) which bears upon the cam follower (54) to drive the piston (50) along the first axis so as to expel fluid material from the chamber through the outlet (31). A particularly important use of the dispenser (1) according to the invention is as an applicator for adhesive, particularly tissue adhesive.</p> |
