PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the powder with the grain size widely distributed, having a scaly or granular nonuniform shape and capable of being uniformly mixed and dispersed in resins, foods, etc. SOLUTION: This method uses the device provided with a drum rotor 2 for sticking a molten material in a pan to its revolving surface, a feed-roller rotor 3 opposed to the rotor 2 and a scraper 4 to scrape off the molten material solidified on the revolving surface of the rotor 2. in this case, the clearance between the revolving surface of the rotor 2 and that of the rotor 3 is controlled to 0.1-0.4 mm, the molten material depositing on depositing on the revolving surface of the rotor 2 is passed through the clearance while rotating the rotors 2 and 3, then the film cooled and solidified on the revolving surface of the rotor 2 is scraped by a scraper, and air is blown in the direction opposite to the gravitational falling of the scraped powdery material thereby dropping the material by gravity.
