摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple engine misfire detection method with a small memory consumption and short routine treat time in order to detect the generation of the accidental fire when the misfire is generated on an engine. SOLUTION: When teeth are installed on a flywheel connected to a crankshaft and the analogue signal generated by the distance difference between the teeth and teeth bottoms is detected by a magnetic pick up, after converting the analogue signal to a digital signal by a switching circuit, the number of 'high' value of the digital signal and the time between TDC are detected by timer/ counter part and the angular acceleration of a flywheel is found out in an electronic control unit and after finding out the bigness of the frequency component of the angular acceleration simply by converting by the discrete Fourier making a walsh function to a fundamental function, the angular acceleration is compared with a prescribed engine misfire basic value, when it exceeds the basic value, the misfire of the engine is judged.
