Filling valve for dispensing metered quantities of a flow of medium, comprising:a valve housing with a flow passage which has an inlet and an outlet opening;an actuable valve body which is accommodated in the flow passage, for opening and closing the outlet opening;actuating means for moving the valve body to and fro between an open position and a closed position;in which the valve body comprises a transitional part having a substantially circular cross section, which transitional part transits into a pointed end part, the transitional part and the pointed end part merging smoothly into one another via a convexly curved part running into an adjoining concavely curved part.
