PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthogonal shaft hinge device to be decreased in size and weight, abundant in rigidity, and facilitate assembly by the less number of parts items. SOLUTION: This device comprises an orthogonal shaft 7 consisting 7 of an opening/closing central shaft 10 and a rotary central shaft 11 having one end orthogonally fixed at the intermediate part of the opening/closing central shaft 10; a plate frame 8 surrounding an opening central shaft 10 and rotatable relatively with the opening/closing central shaft 10; a window 24 which is formed in the plate frame 8 for an opening/closing central shaft and in which the opening/closing central shaft 10 is inserted to allow rotation of the rotary central shaft 11 in a range of a prescribed angle centering around the opening/ closing central shaft 10; and a plate frame 9 for the rotary central shaft surrounding the rotary central shaft 11 and rotatable relatively with the rotary central shaft 11.
