PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snow melting electric heater for a roof, which resists wind, by forming the electric heater of a network linkage structure consisting of an electric wire and refractory connecting ropes. SOLUTION: A separable plug 13 is attached to an edge of the electric heater. Next, an electric heating wire 11 is extended in a manner zigzag folding over several times, and a plurality of refractory linking ropes 12 are crosswise connected to the wire 11, whereby the entire of the wire 11 and rops 12 are formed into a network. After the network is spread on a roof, its peripheral portions are fixed or linked to a fascia board of an eaves edge, a rafter, gutter support hardware, and the like, as well as the periphery of an adjacent electric heater. The separable plug 13 is connected to a receptacle. Thus, the electric heater is substantially free from wind pressure, and therefore it will not be blown off, or attaching/detaching work thereof is not hindered by wind. Further, the electric heater is flexible, and therefore it can be set to depressions and projections of the roof in close contact with the same.
