PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide simple handling, usage for both level ground traveling and climbing up and down stairways, and random adjustment of speed during climbing up and down stairways. SOLUTION: This handcart is provided with a body part 2 including a back face part 9 and a loading space part 8 for mounting cargo, a handle 3 for towing, a pair of wheels 4 attached to a vicinity of a bottom end part of the back face part 9, and an auxiliary means for climbing up and down stairways having one or more belts 15 for belt drive for abutting to steps of stairways. The belts 15 for belt drive are swingably provided with the vicinity of the bottom end part of the back face part 9 as a center point so as to provide suitable selection of either states of a state for level ground traveling with the belts 15 housed near the back face part 9 or a state for climbing up and down stairways with the belts 15 forming a predetermined angle in respect to the back face part 9.
