PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alloy excellent in strength and corrosion resistance at a room temp. by subjecting an alloy having a compsn. contg. specified weight ratios of Li and Zn, and the balance at least Mg with inevitable impurities, and in which a part of the circumference of anαphase of Mg or the space between the grains of aβphase of Li is deposited with granular depositions to forging. SOLUTION: This alloy contains, by mass, 6 to 10.5% Li and 4 to 9% Zn, and the balance at least Mg with inevitable impurities. Preferably, an alloy contg. 6 to 10.5% Li and 4 to 9% Zn, and the balance at least Mg with inevitable impuritis, and in which a part of the circumference of anαphase of Mg or the space between the grains of aβphase of lithium is deposited with granular depositions is inserted into a molding die and is subjected to pressure molding, or the alloy is inserted into a molding die heated at 100 to 250 deg.C and is subjected to pressure molding, or the alloy is preheated to <=300 deg.C before being inserted into a molding die. In this way, after the insertion, forging can swiftly and easily be executed, and its moldability improves.
